    unable to open shutterfly book while using Windows 8
    Summary:
    I started a shutterfly book last weekend by first adding pictures. I am now trying to open the saved project and cannot access it on my home computer (uses Windows 8). It opens on my work computer.

    I have tried using Google Chrome, Firefox and IE. 

    My OS is Windows 8 (brand new computer)---I believe THIS is the problem. How can it be fixed?

    Internet is high speed via cable provider. 

    I spent nearly 3 hours with Geek Squad tech support on remote access; they did everything possible (clear cookies/cache, removed antivirus temporarily, reinstalled Adobe, etc). NOTHING worked!

      Hi Liz,

      It must be very frustrating for you that you cannot open your book on your home computer!  I do not understand which place it is that you called for help, was it the Shutterfly costumer service? If not - then that is the place that you should be e-mailing that long list that you posted here.  FYI:  To contact Shutterfly customer service:

      Hi Liz,

      Usually when people are having issues opening their books, it's due to Adobe Flash being out of date. I think the combination of Windows 8 and Flash is your problem. I suggest contacting Customer Service about this, but in the meantime I am asking around about this issue and will report back anything I find that can help you.

        Hi Shannon,

             I have a question regarding Adobe Flash: When I upload pics to Shutterfly using Express Uploader the message pops up to update Adobe. I keep avoiding it because when I did update one time it messed up the express uploader. I know I should update before I have any problems but I hesitate. Has anyone had an issue with the newest update in respect to Express uploader ?

      Hi Liz,

      I use Win 8. I do not have any problems but I'm not a big Photo Book User..

      Try using Compatibility View in IE. Tools > Compatibility View

      Hi Lyn,

      You have interrupted an active thread that Liz  started yesterday. Please start a new thread with a new topic in future.

      There was a problem with an Adobe product a few months ago. This has been fixed. You should always update to the latest version of these tools when they become available. If problems are caused by the new version they will be fixed very quickly.

      Windows 8 has two operating modes: Metro and Desktop. I have only seen Windows 8 once, and it was in Metro mode...it looks like this:

       

      You'll need to switch to Desktop mode in order to make your book. I don't know what that looks like, or how you make the switch. I would try that and see if it helps. Let us know!

      Hi Shannon,

      On your picture the blue box in the left bottom row is the link to the desktop. The desktop looks almost identical to Win 7.
